Spooky TV - ABC Family Announces "13 Nights of Halloween" Lineup

By , Editor
Among our favorite aspects of the Halloween season are all those goofy TV shows and Halloween-themed movies shown year after comforting year.

You know you're getting close when the channels start announcing the lineups. ABC Family just released their "13 Nights of Halloween" schedule today, with shows and movies running from October 19-31.

The only first-run show in the schedule is a special Halloween-themed "prequel" episode of Pretty Little Liars, which kicks off "13 Days" on October 19 - check out hte promo below.

Fleshing out the seasonal chills are a bunch of movies, many good-to-great, including Tim Burton classics Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and genuinely creepy Corpse Bride; a formidable Hugh Jackman and smoking hot Kate Beckinsale in underrated Van Helsing; clever and touching The Addams Family and Addams Family Values; hilarious and disconcerting Death Becomes Her with Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and a timid Bruce Willis; Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker as not nice witches in Hocus Pocus; Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as nice witches in Practical Magic; Eddie Murphy in the entertaining but ultimately disappointing The Haunted Mansion; as well as Casper; Coraline; The Goonies and more.

Disney Channel, Syfy, Travel Channel, and doubtless others will be busting out Halloween-themed schedules as well. Stay tuned
