New on DVD: Dallas: The Complete Third and Final Season

By , Contributor
The end of the line for the next generation of the Ewing family, Dallas: The Complete Third and Final Season, arrives on DVD and Digital HD January 13 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. The three-disc set contains all 15 season three episodes plus deleted scenes. The third season was a bit of rocky ride in terms of ratings (hence TNT’s cancellation notice last October), but loyal fans who stuck it out will definitely appreciate the ability to relive all the drama.

Season three focuses on a power struggle between John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Ewing patriarch Bobby (Patrick Duffy, a cast member of the original Dallas). John Ross is, of course, the son of the iconic J.R. Ewing (portrayed by Larry Hagman in the both the original Dallas and the revival, until the actor’s death in 2013). Pamela Rebecca Barnes (Julie Gonzalo) wants her marriage to John Ross to be prosperous, despite her being the daughter of Ewing archrival Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval). Since J.R.’s passing, Bobby has assumed his role as head of the Ewing clan. Meanwhile, Christopher Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe) tries to establish a stronghold in the natural gas industry.
