Now Available: Jeff Beck - Performing This Week... Live at Ronnie Scott's (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Jeff Beck's Performing This Week... Live at Ronnie Scott's was first released as a 16-track single-CD back in 2008. Over the summer, Eagle Rock Entertainment did Beck fans a favor by reissuing the album as a two-disc special edition. The recent edition (as of June 2, available as a two-disc CD or digital download) includes the awe-inspiring 2007 concert at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. But the second disc adds the material which had only been included on Eagle Rock's accompanying Blu-ray release of the show.

The first five tunes on disc two feature special guests, highlighted by Eric Clapton's appearance on "Little Brown Bird" and "You Need Love." The rest of disc two is comprised of a seven-song set by Jeff Beck & The Big Town Playboys. If you already own the single-disc edition along with the Blu-ray (or DVD) edition, then it would be entirely understandable if you consider the double-dip unnecessary. But for Jeff Beck fans who have held out thus far, the two-disc edition is definitely the way to go.
