The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced. This year's hopefuls include the obvious, with the often ignored Rush making the ballot. But as the Hall of Fame often does, they also have inane selections, this year with Joan Jett (who might win, believe it or not).
On this day in 2006, American musician, singer, songwriter, and drummer Sandy West died. West was a founding member (with Joan Jett) of all girl group The Runaways, and hailed by fans and critics alike to be one of the most groundbreaking drummers in rock and roll history.
Once again, it’s time for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While I personally feel the whole process is woefully broken, there are things to appreciate about the fact that past heroes get recognized for their greatness.
