The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced. This year's hopefuls include the obvious, with the often ignored Rush making the ballot. But as the Hall of Fame often does, they also have inane selections, this year with Joan Jett (who might win, believe it or not).
The music industry is a perverse cauldron filled with an assortment of self-destructive, morally depraved, power hungry, deeply insecure, greedy and desperate individuals. To set yourself apart from the pack in the most negative ways, is a real achievement.
The DVD The Hollies: Look Through Any Window 1963 - 1975 is the first official documentary film covering the career of the band, and one that was issued with the Hollies full cooperation. The band's story is interesting, and it's nice to hear it told by the ones who lived it, but the real stars of this show are the historical footage and videos.
Once again, it’s time for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While I personally feel the whole process is woefully broken, there are things to appreciate about the fact that past heroes get recognized for their greatness.
