Brit "It Couple" Break Up, and Jennifer Lopez Out With Diddy?

TV Host and Stylista Alexa Chung Breaks Up With Arctic Monkey's Alex Turner: Says It's Not Chilly

By , Contributor
While not as public as the Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony break-up (and far less acrimonious or public), UK’s “It” couple Alexa Chung and Arctic Monkey’s frontman Alex Turner have revealed that they have called it quits. Together for the past four years, the fetching couple confirmed the news yesterday, insisting that their relationship has not ended on bad terms. Or because she is taller than he is.

“Yes, it’s completely amicable,” said a rep for Chung. Apparently the television presenter and contributing editor for British Vogue moved out of the couple’s Los Angeles digs last week, stating the reason for the split was because the couple's dueling schedules: They just weren't together enough anymore. Or at least that's the official word.

This all seems so sudden because on July 6, Chung, the host of Gonzo with Alexa Chung and the upcoming Thrift America for PBS denied the split, her rep saying: Alexa and Alex have not split up. They are very much still together."

Which seemed at odds of reports that both of them were at last month’s iTunes Fest in London and didn’t spend anytime together. It was the same thing at Glastonbury, where they hardly said a word to each other, according to witnesses. Chung was spotted hobnobbing with pals Peaches Geldof and Fifi Brown while Turner remained on his tour bus.

JLo and Diddy.jpgAs for the Lopez and Marc Anthony split, BET.com revealed that Jennifer Lopez has been spotted out Phillipe Chow in New York with her former inamorato Sean Combs, fuelling rumours that they are rekindling their relationship. The two had a high profile romance in the late 90s, and intimates have always claimed that Combs never got over the singer. “She’s Diddy’s fantasy girl and the love of his life.”

A source close to Lopez told BET that: "Puff wouldn't be my first choice for her, but then again he was always very supportive of her sex symbol image and never got mad when she wore sexy clothes. He actually encouraged it."

In the meantime, The Wall Street Journal reports that after months of negotiations, Lopez has agreed (but still not signed) a deal to return to American Idol for its 11th season for an amount slightly more than $20 million, making a nice increase from the $12 million she got last season. There still a few caveats before she signs on the line, including scheduling—she needs time off so she can do a movie she’s agreed to do.
