New Conan the Barbarian Trailer Lives, Loves, and Slays

"I live, I love, I slay, and I am content." So sayeth suitably mesomorphic Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, The Game, Stargate: Atlantic) as Conan the Barbarian in the coming 3D film version of the brawny saga, hacking its way into theaters in August.

The certain-to-be-bloody Hyborian epic is directed by Marcus Nispel (remakes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th), and also stars Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Ron Perlman.

A new extended trailer just came out at Yahoo today: "I see a journey, a man crossing the sands," a seer intones. "A knight?" asks a fair young maiden. "A warrior - your paths will merge." You can bet on it.

When supernatural evil threatens, only a really impressive bodybuilder will do.

I vividly recall sitting in a lavish Hollywood theater in 1982, when Arnold Schwarzenegger made his bid as a (semi) serious actor in John Milius' powerful, panoramic take on the Robert E. Howard sword and sorcery adventures.

Can the new version cause such a stir? Will Jason Momoa wind up a governor?
