These days, TV is much more than just the sum of its programming.  Apps and Internet sites are created before a show even airs, offering trailers and press releases to encourage potential viewers to tune in to the show's premiere.

To further take advantage of the latest technology, two series-related Xbox and PlayStation games have been developed, offering enticement to those who want to do more than watch their favorite shows. Ever dream of being part of the onscreen action? Well, now you can.

The latest TV related gaming news comes from MTV Networks and 345 Games, the video game arm of COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike TV. These companies will debut two new titles at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which takes place June 7th through June 9th in Los Angeles.

Ugly Americans, COMEDY CENTRAL's hit animated show and Spike TV's series Deadliest Warrior will be series on which the games will be based. The games will be made available as downloads on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Networks this summer: "Deadliest Warrior: Legends" will launch in mid-July and "Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon" is scheduled for an August release. Each title will retail for ten dollars.

Based on the popular Spike TV show and video franchise, "Deadliest Warrior: Legends" will enable players to wage war on the battlefield with the "most legendary warriors in history." The download will feature "nine heroic warriors, new fighting options, a more precise projectile system, more arenas, and a new campaign mode."

The "Ugly Americans: Apoocalypsegeddon" game will be released in conjunction with COMEDY CENTRAL's season two launch of Ugly Americans. The scrolling shooter will keep true to the spirit and humor of the animated series and will feature an exclusive script written by the show's writers. In addition, a new character will be introduced and voice overs will be done by Ugly American actors.  Cleaning up chaos, preventing the approaching apocalypse and fighting aliens will be only part of the fun.

If you can't attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo, you can check out Spike TV's GTTV Presents E3 All Access Live, starting June 6th at noon eastern time. They will be offering sneak peeks of both games during the show. You can also watch the streaming broadcast online at
