There must have been something in the stars yesterday. First, former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri got into a standoff with a SWAT team at his Los Angeles home last night. Police were summoned by a neighbor who called 911 to report a disturbance between the singer and his girlfriend. According to a report on TMZ, Oliveri’s girlfriend told police that he had struck her during an argument the day before and she had returned to the location to box up her stuff so she could move out. During that time, the two got into a loud argument, during which Oliveri locked her inside the couple’s duplex.
When police finally arrived, the musician refused to let them inside or let his girlfriend leave. That’s when the SWAT were summoned, and a standoff took place. After two hours, Oliveri finally agreed to let the woman exit the home, and then gave himself up. Once inside, police found a high-powered rifle that was fully loaded. He was booked on felony domestic violence, but has since been released after posting $100,000 bail.

continued inside the hotel room and the man hit her in the mouth. He had
already left the scene when cops arrived, but no matter since Nicki insisted
she did NOT want to press charges, and inexplicitly that she was not in a
relationship with the attacker. Police revealed that an incident report was
taken but no charges will be filed per the singer’s request.
