Jack White has always had an odd sense of timing - and we're not just talking about when he's behind the drums with Death Weather.
Only 12 hours after being poised at the side of the stage at Bonnarooo watching his supermodel-cum-songwriter wife Karen Elson execute a superb set pulled from her rather moody debut The Ghost Who Walks, White's representatives sent out what was dubbed "A Divorce Invitation," which was strangely written in an odd mix of cases, underscoring the eccentricity of the release. It read as follows:
To whom it may concern:
karen elson and jack white announce today that they are getting divorced.
"we remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee.
We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow.
In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. an evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family
Karen Elson and Jack White."
No word when this odd bash will take place, and if we're all really invited. Is Jack White just cleaning house? In February he broke up his long standing band White Stripes, after 13 years together. He was married to Stripes drummer Meg White at one time.
