We don’t want to say that Lil Wayne is a trouble magnet—after all he did serve time in a New York jail after pleading guilty to a weapons charge—but we just got news that the 28-year-old rapper is recovering after spending Sunday in the emergency room at St. Louis’s De Paul Heath Center after taking a spill at a suburban skateboard park.According to the report, the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was in the area for a performance at the outdoor Verizon Amphitheatre. Television station KTVI-TV reported that a large entourage accompanied Lil Wayne when he came to the hospital. But hospital spokesperson Jamie Newell was unable to confirm whether he was at the hospital, claiming privacy laws, but Lil Wayne took care of all that, writing about it via his Twitter account: "The Lou was good but I busted my..head at the sk8park! 9stiches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people," he tweeted.
Lil Wayne is on the brink of releasing a follow up to 2008’s Tha Carter III, an album that was not only the best selling album of 2008 but also the Grammy Award winner for best rap album of the year. His new disc is not surprisingly dubbed Tha Carter IV, and will be released digitally after Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, where Lil Wayne will perform—no doubt with his war wounds. Tha Carter IV will be in stores on August 29, featuring an adorable photo of Lil Wayne when he was really Lil, embellished with his current tattoos and featuring collaborations with some of the rapper’s more famous friends like Drake, Cory Gunz, Rick Ross, and Busta Rhymes.
