Michael Jackson Is Immortal in New Soundtrack

Cirque du Soleil immortalizes The King Of Pop in song.

If you’re one of millions who love Michael Jackson and his music, then you’re also likely one who appreciates the celebration of his life. Cirque du Soleil has a touring celebration lovingly named The Immortal World Tour, which will find a city near you somewhere, if it hasn’t already.

It's a massive undertaking that rides on the ground laid out previously by the troupe’s Love extravaganza based on the Beatles’ story and music. Eventually, the big show will play indefinitely in Las Vegas, where it will do what Love has done, become a consistent sell-out and likely a long-term fixture.

Michael Jackson is one of those larger than life pop phenomena that rarely come around. Because there are so few of his kind of musical giants, it is no surprise that such a large scale undertaking like Immortal is already here. Michael Jackson has only been gone for a few years but his legend is apparently still going strong. The Immortal World Tour is sure to provide close to the same excitement that followed a Michael Jackson tour. And what would such an event be without an accompanying soundtrack to give remembrance?

MichaelJacksonImmortalSoundtrack.jpgOn November 21, Epic Records plan the release of Immortal, a “soundtrack” collection of songs from the glitzy show. The show, which covers much of Michael Jackson’s life in song and dance (how natural), contains well-rehearsed covers of MJ classics that include music from The Jackson Five, The Jacksons, and, of course, his extraordinary solo years.

The set will release in two forms, a single CD with 15 songs, all Immortal interpretations, while a second Deluxe Edition two-CD set will deliver 22 selections. Many of these are medleys, which means that more songs than the stated number of tracks are here.
