Golf Clubs for Mike Dirnt
We knew that Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt was a talented guy, but we didn’t know that he was a golfer until we got word that he and his partner Chet Lievre took second place in the Clandestine golf tournament this past weekend at the Sequoyah Country Club in unpretentious Oakland. No Sewing Machine for Florence
It turns out that Florence
Welch isn’t designing her own line for Top Shop, despite a report in UK’s Daily Mail. We can see how the rumor got
started, since the titian-haired singer has worked with Topshop before — in 2009
they created many of her stage costumes. But fortunes change, and with her new
found success she tapped Gucci’s Frida Giannini—for whom the singer serves as
muse and inspiration—to furnish her clothing for her last go round.
Next time Karl Lagerfeld? The grey-ponytailed icon has given her a number of pieces of vintage Chanel and has spoken publicly about how much he admires her style, personally inviting her to last year’s Chanel Ready-to-Wear Fall/ Winter 2011-2012 show held at Grand Palais as part of Paris Fashion Week.
As for a new line? Florence’s PR say’s it’s not true: “[Florence] is in the studio and has been very busy with that, so not sure how she'd fit this in!”
Christina's In the Studio, But NOT With Florence
So what’s Christina Aguliera doing for her summer vacation? She’s in the studio working with Madonna's former Ray of Light collaborator William Orbit, and Pearl Jam producer Brendan O’Brien, who just finished working with The Fray.
