Smells Like Teen Spirit: Justin Bieber's New Fragrance Line

Justin Bieber smell-o-vision!

By , Contributor

What does Justin Bieber look for in a girl? Well, one look at the winsome Selena Gomez and you can figure it out for yourself, although he didn't bother to mention her (but thanked his mother) in his acceptance speech for the "Artist of the Year" gong at last Sunday's Billboard Music Awards.

The consolation prize? He did plant a big public kiss on Gomez's dewy red lips, perhaps having everything to do with the way she...smelled? Apparently so, which is why the Canadian teen sensation has created a perfume for the fans, tantalizingly called "Someday."

"Let's be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy!" Bieber revealed in an email interview with fashion bible Women's Wear Daily. "I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world." Which seems a little creepy, imagining a stadium filled with 20,000 14-to-18-year-olds all smelling like fruit.

Yes, fruit. According to WWD, the elixir, which will come in a tinted purple bottle (it's Justin's favorite color) with a heart-shaped bottle top, is a "fruity gourmand" scent.

You can see-even if you can't smell-it for yourself on the YouTube channel Bieber created for the perfume, which shows an angelic blonde model spraying Someday on the nape of her long, pale neck, and Bieber suddenly appearing and kissing that exact spot before whisking her up into the skies like an underage Superman in a leather hoodie. That would make it so very PG, but the couple touch back down in her bedroom. Hmmm, whatever happened to subliminal messages?

Someday will set you back $35 for the 1 oz. bottle, $45 for 1.7 oz. and $55 for 3.4 oz. Not surprisingly a hair mist will be available for $20, and body lotion for $25. Look for it next month at Sephora, Ultra, Macy's, Dillard's and Nordstroms. And to the teen's great credit, the proceeds will go to charity, including Pencils of Promise and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
