“Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a Fresh Rating of 85 percent, Warner Bros.’ acclaimed drama The Good Lie stars Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon. The film focuses on Sudanese young adults, orphaned as children during the civil war that began in 1983, and the efforts to bring them to the U.S. and secure employment. January 20, 2015: Annabelle on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital HD

“Before The Conjuring, there was Annabelle,” states Warner Bros.’ tagline for the massive horror hit. Produced for $6.5 million, Annabelle has grossed an incredible $252 million worldwide. Being a prequel/spin-off of the phenomenally successful The Conjuring provided Annabelle with a built-in audience. The evil doll at the center of the story isn’t the only connection between the two films. Annabelle director John R. Leonetti was the cinematographer for The Conjuring. The latter film’s director James Wan co-produced Annabelle.

The Blu-ray and DVD editions of Annabelle will include the featurette “The Curse of Annabelle.” The Blu-ray edition will include the featurettes “Bloody Tears of Possession,” “Dolls of the Demon,” “A Demonic Process,” as well as deleted scenes.

January 27, 2015: The Judge on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital HD

The cast alone makes Warner Bros.’ The Judge a must-see: Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton, Vera Farmiga, and Vincent D’Onofrio. Joe Neumaier of New York Daily News had high marks for Duvall, saying the actor “uses his great, unassuming American face to convey pride, confusion, pain and compassion - sometimes all at once.” The Judge was directed by David Dobkin, who also directed the hits Shanghai Knights, Wedding Crashers, and The Change-Up.

Judge 1 (380x253).jpgOfficial synopsis: “In The Judge, Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before. “

Both the Blu-ray and DVD editions of The Judge will contain the featurette “Getting Deep with Dax Shepard.” Additional special features found only on the Blu-ray include commentary by director David Dobkin, the featurette “Inside The Judge,” and deleted scenes (with optional commentary by Dobkin).
