It's Gonna Be A Busy Year For Yoko Ono

By , Columnist
You have to hand it to Yoko Ono. Rather than retire into a comfortable life (and she could —easily), the artistic streak in her refuses to lay down on a hammock somewhere, or tend gardens. Long a supporter of human rights, peace, and a faithful overseer of John Lennon's well-known library, Yoko Ono will launch into her 90th decade with a party of a concert in the VolksbĂĽhne theatre located in Berlin, Germany on February 17.

Fronting her long-standing Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band (whose history extends all the way back to John Lennon's solo years after the breakup of The Beatles), Yoko Ono will appear with her son, Sean Ono Lennon.

Yoko Ono will have a busy 2013 with the expected reissue of her albums from 1968 through 1985. Also on her busy calendar will be the release of a career-spanning art book, Infinite Universe at Dawn, which will highlight 60 years of Yoko Ono art. She will also curate the 2013 Meltdown Festival at Southbanke Centre that will take place in June.

The Morton Report salutes Yoko Ono, wishing her a very happy 80th birthday.
