It was the stupidest, dumbest, most asinine piece of reality TV that I’m convinced had audiences across the fruited plains rolling their eyes. Is this the best the X Factor can do?

Some of the contenders on Dancing With the Stars (DWS) are cats, some are dogs. From the very beginning it’s easy to ascertain just who is who. Let’s take a look see .

The fashion was, for the most part, subdued and in good taste. Some fashion choices deserve some comment with just a touch of snark.

There's just not enough attention to the actual food on Hell's Kitchen.

Simon answered this and other interesting questions during a conference call that included conferees from Style Weekly, Yahoo and the NY Daily News. The swanky of the world were represented by yours truly for The Morton Report as I stand up and take my bow.

I rarely do a post on a competitive reality TV show after the finale because, well, why? But for this series I really must do a follow-up due to my great surprise... though I was not necessarily disappointed.
Monday Sep 12, 2011 55:00 PM ET
How on earth, I pondered, did these contenders make it into this competition?

Since the talent on AGT can be anything and of any size, you might have a zany fellow diving from on high into a shallow pool of water, motorcyclists who drive around in circles while enclosed in a mini-dome, and sometimes even a singer or two.

We have a prediction!

I begin to wonder just when it became perfectly okay to tell all our sex secrets to the world.

Big Brother is morphing into an ongoing series right before our lying eyes. There will be professional contenders who will take on all challengers, or "newbies."

Allow me to nominate The Bachelor Pad as one of the most provocative prime-time shows on television.
Tuesday Aug 30, 2011 30:00 PM ET
So that’s how it is across the fruited plains as I still ripple with glee that the roster for this upcoming season 13 has been announced, one either loves or despises Dancing With the Stars.

Big Brother is a show about human nature and I understand that sadness and tears are part of human nature. But Big Brother is also a show about winning.

I reserve the right to change these predictions as time, challenges and hideousness require.
Thursday Aug 25, 2011 35:00 PM ET
I could not, even with a gun held to my head, describe rhyme nor reason about how all of this is done, what exactly comprises a semi-finalist and frankly I'm not even sure there is a top ten of so-called finalists as it's all way over my head.

One might smile in bemusement that a Sussex County resident who writes a reality TV column for a large and happening Internet site proudly advertised as the purview for the swanky would have her life suddenly stopped, stalled, thwarted, debated, and otherwise set to turmoil over an event involving ... duh, a REALITY SHOW!

Frankly I've never seen more fishwife behavior than that presented by Vienna. Even when she's not interacting with a man, Vienna comes off as a spoiled brat.
Sunday Aug 21, 2011 30:00 AM ET
I reserve, as always, the right to change my prediction as sudden rule changes and events warrant.

The designers, many of them spoiled drama queens, immediately began to gripe when told of their challenge for this episode. Nina didn't help with her long list of fashion designs that would not do. By the time she got done expounding on her list there did seem to be little left save perhaps muslin or raw cotton.

And through all this angst, by coincidence or script, Vienna and Jake keep ending up in proximity to each other as the gods of serendipity shine down upon them.

Brendon had once been evicted but with a new quirk in the rules he was allowed to be voted back on by the American public. Well, of course we would vote to bring Brendon back. He's handsome, good at the house contests, and with Rachel the Big Brother house comes to life.

Who can argue with a sandwich king as The Next Food Network Star?
Saturday Aug 13, 2011 25:00 PM ET
We've had outfits made from materials that could only be purchased in a pet store and fine designs for models on stilts. All to test creativity, but we've also come to see into the psyche of the fashion design contenders. Sometimes, it's really ugly in there.

It's not for any lack of publicity or tease that Love in the Wild hasn't managed to grab an audience. Goodness knows there's enough reference to sex, not to mention females running about in tiny bikinis for no reason whatsoever...
Thursday Aug 11, 2011 00:00 AM ET
August has been given a breath of fresh air with the premiere of The Bachelor Pad, that bastardization of Big Brother and The Bachelor that has it all: love, gossip, politics, laughs, snark, betrayal, and lots of tears.
Wednesday Aug 10, 2011 45:00 AM ET
This past week's Design Star challenge required the remaining contenders to form four teams of two each. Using, of all things, tea kettles as their guide, the contenders were to create a stellar kitchen from its inspiration.
Tuesday Aug 9, 2011 30:00 AM ET
Just as soon as a Head of Household wins the title there begins a political game to rival any congressional cloak room as the contenders bombard the HOH with pleas to join their coalition, deals to protect against eviction, whispers of evil about other contenders.
Monday Aug 8, 2011 40:00 AM ET
America's Got Talent goes from city to city seeking talent with an edge that will entertain, amuse, beguile, frighten or astound us. This effort and the subsequent "talent" presented in the early stages becomes living proof that Americans have entirely too much time on their hands.

My suggestion to all would-be chefs desirous of obtaining their own cooking show (The Next Food Network Star), becoming head chef of a swanky restaurant (Hell's Kitchen) or just taking home a quarter of a million bucks (MasterChef), for goodness sake, learn your risotto!

Ashley did make her choice this past Monday night and, God bless, I was right on my prediction. Speaking of rivers of tears for the most innocuous of things, goodness, Ashley surpassed even herself on this Final Rose drama.

The pattern that emerges is that fully six of this season's contenders are veterans, experienced in the ways of the Big Brother House and prepared for the many strange challenges. They are competing against a bunch of hapless newbies.

MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen continue the cursing tradition with some extra spicy contender humiliation.
Wednesday Jul 27, 2011 00:00 AM ET
It seems that every season there is at least one contender who returns. Obviously the show's producers consider this part of the scripting, an additional drama element.

I scratch my head and ponder this plethora of food reality shows bombarding us from our television screens this summer, so much as to overwhelm even my reality-show-loving, cooking-show-aficionado self.
Tuesday Jul 19, 2011 10:00 PM ET
Summers in America will never be the same as America's Got Talent fills the desultory hot evenings of endless TV repeats with fresh entertainment that will baffle, startle, scare, amuse, puzzle and, in some cases, entertain .

So I've got my favorites for this year's Emmy awards but there are a few nominations in need of further commentary and snark.
