Gwen Stefani Launches a Children's Line At Target

The bad news: no blue Mohawks for sale.

All this time we thought Gwen Stefani was hard at work recording the new No Doubt album, we find out the mother of two has been designing a children’s line for Target. The second largest discount retailer in the US already carries Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers fragrances, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that she brings her Harajuku Mini to Target.

Her first offerings will be for newborns and infants and boys apparel, which makes sense since she and rock star hubby Gavin Rossdale are the parents of two boys, Kingston, 5 and Zuma, 2, who you undoubtedly have seen in their camo shorts, combat boots and, in Kinston’s case, a bright blue Mohawk. The bad news: There are no Mohawk wigs in the collection.

"Harajuku Mini is a dream come true," Stefani told fashion bible Women’s Wear Daily. I've always wanted to do a cool children's fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid's clothing you find in Japan. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid's clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.”

No, this doesn’t necessarily mean she’s planning to give birth to a daughter so she can include a girls collection. She can just scale down that animal print cape to a size 6X.

As for the new No Doubt album, so far they've released six song titles for the yet unnamed album: "One More Summer," "Gravity," "Settle Down," "Easy," "Dreaming the Same Dream," and "Heaven." And if drummer Adrian Young is to believed it should be out in the fall of 2011.
