For those who live outside of Cleveland, Ohio (and even for those who do live within its borders), there's a band that you should be aware of. The band is The Lighthouse and The Whaler. If you already are aware of them, then my hat is off to you. You're a tastemaker!

Formed in 2008, The Lighthouse And The Whaler began as a folk band with an excellent debut release to account for their talent. Since, they have morphed wonderfully into a rock band with a pop rock sound that is finely tuned and readily listenable. Currently, The Lighthouse and The Whaler are Michael LoPresti (vocals), Matthew LoPresti (percussion), Mark Poro (mandolin, violin, guitar, piano, glockenspiel), and Ryan Walker (bass). Blended, they make a sensation of music!

Their recent EP release, Venice Remix (2014), delivers five new mixes including a radio single of the engaging track, and an acoustic version.

"Venice" comes off their extraordinary 2012 release, This Is An Adventure. That album is their second full-length and is filled with ten stunning (there's no other way to say it) songs beginning with "Pioneers," itself the title track of a three-track sampler EP (all songs off This Is An Adventure).

If you haven't heard of The Lighthouse and The Whaler, I'd say right now is as great a time as ever. Check out the official radio single edit of "Venice" in the YouTube video below. Then go off and search for more.
