With impeccable timing and a regal flourish, British historian and monarchy expert David Starkey and HarperCollins Ltd have released an iPad/iPhone app spanning 2000 years of English royal history called Kings and Queens.

Touted as "the story of the Crown of England and those who wore it, intrigued for it and died for it," and lavishly illustrated with maps, charts, and artwork throughout multimedia threads that include "Timelines" and "Family Trees," the app's textual content is derived from Starkey's recent book Crown & Country: The Kings and Queens of England, A History. Starkey also provides video commentary on key events throughout.

Kings and Queens sits proudly atop the UK iTunes Book App chart, was named "iPad App of the Week" by Apple, and users will be able to stream the royal wedding of William and Kate live via the app and a deal with Sky News.
